New front coil over package
« on: December 20, 2017, 08:47:18 AM »
Here is our new lower A-arm and true Coil over kit, this set up uses a real coil over for more shock travel and ease of use, our EXCLUSIVE two position height adjustment allows for a 2" range of height adjustment WITHOUT affecting shock travel and another 2" of adjustment in the coil over shock for a total of 4" of ride height adjustment.
These A-arms also allow the complete removal of the coil over WITHOUT as much as taking of the wheels, yes the coil over drops right out the bottom so that you can make an easy spring change at the track
The adjustable upper mount needs to be welded in but locates off the upper A-arm bolts so there is no measuring needed.

Thanks again for setting this up on my frame Dave!  Best coilover mounting setup on the market as far as I’m concerned.  For anyone that doesn’t understand the design, basically you can adjust ride height by moving the upper spring mounting point (not compressing/extending the spring/shock assembly).  I haven’t seen anyone else in the pro-touring scene doing this.

Most of PTFB’s competitors claim adjustability through the coilover but they’re really just over compressing or extending the shock/spring.  The competitors setups lose shock travel in either direction when adjusting height using a fixed mounting point on the frame.  There’s a lot of monkey see, monkey do on that subject.

Once again, thank you and good job for introducing this to members on the forum!  More people need to know about this.

Thanks Jon, this is one of the things that pains me about how some have marketed coil overs, the by product of their assembly can affect ride height but they fail to tell customers that it also affects their shock absorber travel and can lead to damaged shocks, granted there is some adjustment  ( about 1/2" in bump and 1/2" in rebound from mid compressed) but not 2" as some are lead to believe.

Hi Dave.  Is it too late for me to exchange mine for this newer kit? :(

I'm not able to view the picture.  Something at work may be blocking it.  Trying IE  and Chrome, but can't see with either browser.

The only thing with yours is that the shocks were installed were they not? also your installing shop should have the ability to cut and weld, but if you want to give me a call we can try to figure out something.

Dave, any way to retrofit my Gen II Comp A arms with my current AFCO double adjustable shocks running stock style coils to this style of setup?

you would have to change the whole shock and do the upper mount but that would be the minimum

Could I just do the upper mount? The Afco I have  has a threaded body for a coil over spring.
