J&S Machine - Being Sold - Retiring
« on: November 22, 2017, 09:54:02 PM »
Hey guys....if you did not know Jim put the shop up for sale.  For those with Olds motors and need some stuff better get it while you can.
I bought some parts last week when I was in Singapore and arrived when I got back.  Many of the 403's we have run J&S parts.  Bought some stuff to build one more motor.   http://www.jsmachineoldsmobile.com

Interesting Website.
The Cylinder head work on the Edelbrock Heads for Olds V8 is like nothing else.

Only one other guy in the Harley Davidson world has done similar, Dan Baisley.

Port Velocity Matters.

What makes a Pontiac RAIV Work.

Never had a 403 quite like shown.
I do Love my 1965 Olds 425, One Hell of an engine.

Its too bad LS has taken over mainstream.

Big Block Chevy & Pontiac V8 Survives yet.

The owner said on Facebook he’d provide 1 month training for free and be available at cost to build engines.

I would like to have the Business.
Problems facing is there are only 90 people in Topeka Illinois.
All your business would be online.
The Olds V8 market is small today.
LS Racing just took over.
Price is right to buy.
But without a steady stream or work no income.
Got a Farmhouse, Wife & Kids.

All Racing in Illinois is based out of Chicago Land in now.
None want to drive far.
Just me driving in 72 miles daily to South Chicago.

Would have to do LS & all engines to survive.
Topeka is 157 miles from Chicago.

Only Chicago survived the economic recession 2007- 2016.
Its better now with Trump in.
South Illinois in bad shape.

With the aftermarket 455 Olds block from Rocket Racing the Olds will make some real power again.

Problem for me I am too invested in small block parts.  As I posted earlier...these are the last of our 403 builds.  Two going in cars in 2018 and one spare shortblock.  May go crazy and build a Diesel small block or the holy grail Nascar Olds.  Depends......will have to find one already machined or real cheap.

The Ls craze is easy to restomod into older cars and reasonable.
