I am interviewing for a Wild Turkey assistant.

I almost moved to the Macon area when I moved south and had I done that I'd send in my resume and commute! I could learn a lot from someone with your background.

Curious why you prefer the cup style gussets rather than small diameter tubing? While I do a lot of light fabrication I had my cage built by a bud who owns a fab shop that does mostly drag cars and he used tubing. Pic for those following along who might want to see how tubing is used.

The tube brace is a NHRA rule and a drag race thing so they can inspect the welds on 4130 cages and the formed gusset is more a road race thing. I have had several roll cages be involved in some wicked crashes and the formed gussets held even on an aluminum cage on a GTP car from the 1980's. Both work .

Sorry for the slow reply. Been hard at it, just not been taking any pictures. roll cage back in and finished. Back working on sheet metal panels. got the trunk lower panel in and fitted. over the weekend I got the right side rear lower bulkhead closing panel built and installed. over the weekend I took a day and sorted supplies and hardware I have been stock piling for this project for years. now I have a good supply of 12 point hardware for the car. I will try to get some pictures up this week. how do you finish a project like this do a little something every day.

Again, Amazing. Beautiful work. What do you use to bend the sheet steel? And how do you get the holes drilled so straight and evenly spaced?

I am lucky to have the best press brakes available to me to use.  The hole patterns are nothing special just a Eberhard faber # 705 ( water soluble) pencil and a ruler. draw a line in 3/8 from the edge every place you want rivets and mark them out in 1.0 spacing.  sometimes you will need to make the spacing a little bigger or smaller to get it worked out to the space you have. set a compass to the correct spacing and mark of the center points. then I either drill or punch with a Whitney jr hand punch.

My photo bucket account was just suspended for excessive 3rd party hosting use. I have only used it for this site. They want $400.00 bucks per year for 500 pictures. LOL

Yep not happy. Trying to see what to do. Not going to pay 400 bucks to them . Looking into what I need to do to for 3rd party hosting my pictures from my company website. Been looking around and cloud storage is cheap 99 cents per terabyte per month.  Hey MR. Web Master what would it cost to go back and store pictures back at TAC??????

Wow what a long and annoying process to rid myself of photo bucket. But I have this evening. I have pulled all their links down and fired them. I will begin reposting my pictures from my own server in the next few days.
I would like to thank photo  bucket for pushing me to get set up to host my own pictures so I am not depending on such a worthless money grabbing hostage holding company like them.
So stand by for new and more pictures . thanks for looking

Sorry for the no pictures of late but I have been busy at work.
Wow 10,000 views who would have thought. Thanks you guys for watching.
I have not been able to get on any machines at work to make parts for a while. finally got some laser and pressbrake time. and finished the internal bulkheads for the side pods.
Went to caffeine and Octane this weekend for the first time. Way cool can wait till I can drive my car down to the show. Some crazy stupid builds and some very expensive cars. darn I am glad Atlanta has that many car fans.
