Just ordered a small phoenix decal to put onto the panel between the tail lights, the lack of birds finally got to me. :P

i'm missing the bird and most of the wording in the between the tail lights panel so will probably at some point get something as well :) take before and after pic for us  :-D

I'll throw a picture up once it's on, hopefully it being in purple works out like I think it will.  I was thinking of putting a matching one that's larger onto the front bumper, but kinda meh on putting decals onto paint.  There had been someone selling what you're needing where it was the "Trans Am" lettering and phoenix but it seems their listing is gone at the moment.

Bought a set of Corvette 17x9.5 sawblades with practically new B.F. Goodrich Sport Comp-2 tires since I needed new tires anyway, and it didn't cost any more than a new set of tires for the stock 16x8's.  Hard to beat that. :P

Looks like you're doing a good job, but what happened to the drain hole?

Air intake arrived today, might put on later or just wait until the weekend.

previous owners dicked with it, half of the lip on the driverside is a fiberglass repair. Probably more 'glass under the primer I didn't take off.

Should be able to dremel out a hole then epoxy in a plastic drain hole that you can attach a hose to.  Then again I now notice the holes for the seal to attach to are also gone, so in that case I guess it doesn't really matter unless you were just going to silicone a seal onto it.

Removed the sticker from the dealership the car was originally bought from.  Some careful peeling, Liquid Wrench, and quick wax later it's like it was never there.  Removed the baked Formula sticker from the headlight cover, not so much luck there as the adhesive had eaten into the paint...

I started painting the extra(original?) set of dingy Cameo White mirrors in the Blue Satin, tape a stripe of around the edge and paint it in the White Primer. On that note, I scuffed up the rear center spoiler and was painting the last side it when the can died and spit a huge amount of paint out. Hhhmmm.... Buy a Senior Prom ticket or use that money to paint the car....decisions...decisions...

Car stuff>overhyped school dance.  Paint is something you'll get to enjoy for a long time versus a single night you may or may not enjoy at all, the choice is obvious. :P

Wheels arrived in Nashville via FedEx at noon, so they should be at my door tomorrow or Saturday by the latest. Between the serpentine belt, cold air intake, and then wheels I have plenty to do this weekend.

Awesome, my Trans Am was dubbed the " Grey Ghost " by friends because of the color of its primer and as a civil war reference. I'll just refer to it as "The Colonel"  once its completely white.

Nevermind they don't fit. Apparently '93-96 are spedecial and have different rear hub sizes, I hate GM.

Well apparently I can either grind the hub or rims since they're lug centric, I still hate GM.

Today I... finally found the reason for the squeaky serpentine belt on the womans Jeep.  Had nothing to do with the actual belt.  The power steering pump pulley was bulged and cracked.  How the HELL that happened, I have no idea.  I replace that, and welded a noisy heat shield back on to the precat.

Much quieter now :-)

Also, I got some more work done on my transmission.  Pics in my resto thread to follow.

Got stuff finished today:

The engine does seem happier with it over the retardedness that was the factory setup.

Then this happened:

16x8 next to the 17x9.5, amazing what another 1.5" can do.  Then lots of Dremel bits and time grinding the rear hubs...

Fills out the wheel wells better, meant to take a picture from the back then forgot so will have to do that tomorrow.  I know some don't like the sawblades but I like them, they match the styling of the car at least.  Sometime in the near future I need to get around to polishing out the lips, modifying the center caps, and then possibly paint the centers in anthracite or black.

I also got mine out of hibernation and laid out some nice black stripes on the road :) the car drives better than ever after I put polybushings in the rear suspension and solid body bushings in the frame.. Now I just need to rebuild the front suspension, but that will have to wait until fall - now it's driving time  8)

Soooooo much better is an understatement.  First and second gear are useful now, got into it in second and hunkers down and goes with no sliding out nonsense like it had been.  Didn't get into it all the way in first today but seems to put it down and goes without much drama.  Cornering and overall stability along with feel are greatly improved as well, they ride better and are a little quieter too.  They do have that weird noise in the 40-45 mph range like mentioned in so many reviews but it doesn't seem too terrible.  Overall really pleased with the change, it's weird but it feels slower now but I guess that's because of it being more tame.
