Want to rebuild mine too?  I pay in cash and booze.

HA!  I'm having enough trouble with mine.  Matter of fact, time to update the resto thread sometime today.

They usually salt and sand, but for whatever reason they didn't yesterday. I took full advantage of it.

Aww oh well...  I can't find anyone near me that's reputable and knowing at least one of them doesn't know what they're doing doesn't instill confidence.  For everything involved in a manual conversion I've considered finding a V8 5-speed third gen with a bad motor and just transplanting my engine into it, then either hold onto or sell the '79 as a roller.

Nice tool box, I had my eye on one of those but it was a bit pricey. Looked like it was well built though! Nice Mustang, years ago there was an old timer steel guy/welder, had a caddy and his work truck painted that same colour. Had the Pink Panther painted on the back.

You know the joke that they are all pink on the inside? This one is pink on the inside too. Not that cool! LOL. I cant even  make fun of the previous owner because 1 the car is a repo and 2 the po may have had cancer. So, we're gonna have to make fun of my Dad. New Years at our house will be a blast. He's got 5 sons and a wife the swear like truckers at an open bar. It'll be a blue roast, for sure.

LMAO!! I was just thinking that SAME thing, except I was thinking it for a different reason.  Nothing to do with the interior.  To me, it's because only pussies drive Rustangs.

There's a newer Camaro that's local and is done up the same way with everything pink and the ribbons and etc...  I think it's pretty cool to show support for a loved one like that.

Side note I like the Mustang, from '64-69 and then from '11 to present is pretty nifty.  I was looking into the SN95 but the Cobra I tested my knee didn't agree with the clutch, I'd have to do a hydraulic clutch conversion.  Though between that and all the suspension work needed I'd be better off finding the proverbial needle in the haystack that is a manual F-body.

Fixed someone else's screw up!   They took the nuts off the ball joints without removing the cotter pins!  Whish I would have noticed that before I started putting the car together!  I drilled out 4 of them today on the car. At least I did not have fenders on it.

Today I... woke up a lot later than usual.  Didn't get to bed until after 3 AM (good New Years party :-) ).  Then I decided to get some things done around the house.  Namely, cleaning out the basement and tearing down an old, defunct light fixture above my fireplace.  After I tore that out, I hard wired in a CO detector for the propane heater.

Now, if anyone recalls, I'm storing a friends motorcycle in my garage for the winter.  I went to start it up a few days ago and it was deader than dead.  I jumped it with my DD and it turns out both the battery and the plugs were in need of replacement.  I've NEVER worked on a motorcycle ever in my life.  I'm thankful for Google and Wikipedia at the moment, lol.  Turns out my friends bike was only made for 2 years.  82 and 83.  Stupid Honda's.  Well, luckily I was able to get a new battery and plugs for mad cheap @ work.  I didn't know that motorcycle batteries actually come with the acid in a separate bottle, and that you have to pour in the acid and charge it yourself.

Well, all is said and done now.  The battery is reading a strong 12.90 and the manual calls for 12.70.  Tomorrow after work, the battery and plugs are both getting installed.  Should fire right up.

With help from my wife, we cleaned up the wire harness, removed 39 years of dust and grim. Half the fun was figuring out what connectors went to what.

Because of global warming, today I took the subframe of my 73 out onto the snow covered lawn here in Anchorage, and pressure washed 43 years of grime off of it. Normally it would be 10 degrees outside, but today it was in the 40's.

To what purpose?

It was interfering with the AC compressor, then the hood.

Nothing new outside of having someone that's dropped by before drop by again because they lost my number, that and they have RX-7s and a Miata to trade.  I could go for another Miata I'll never drop the top on.

Today I... went to work (what else is new) and when I got home, I realized my inspection is up this month!  CRAP.  This gave me some motivation to find my exhaust leak.  Turns out the exhaust pipe to muffler gasket I got from the DEALER was bad!  $12 for a gasket that didn't even last 3 months.  So I did what I could with that, then threw a tune up into the womans Jeep.  She needed spark plugs real bad.  They were so worn that the spark gap was 0.060 - should have been 0.040!  After that and an oil change with Mobil 1 oil and filter, topped off all the fluids, checked the tire pressure... should be ok for another 5000 or so miles.

You look young for being a grandfather.

Today I... went to work for 8 frikken hours.  I'm leaving for an out of state work site tomorrow so I'm going to be down to one job for awhile  :-D

Also, when I answered the phone at one point today, it was absolute PROOF of why weed is, and should always be, ILLEGAL!

I won't type in all the details of the phone call, but I will say that the guys voice slurred, he was taking deep breaths in and out, and it took a good 5 seconds for him to get out the next word he was trying to say.  I could definitely hear the "high" in his voice.

So wrong, so disgusting, and so depressing that people have to smoke that garbage.
