Just got back from the All American Car Show in Sydney, Australia.

530 American built cars, the majority of them 60-70's performance cars....Mustangs, Camaros, Firebirds, Corvettes....also lots of CHevs running back to the 50's, etc.

Last year, my car was fresh on the road and won Top Modified Firebird.

This year, it blew me away....I won Top Musclecar of the show.  Shocked

Didn't take a lot of pics, but heres a few....

My car set up for judging.

My friend's newly acquired 68 Firebird 400 convertible, and my car....

Didn't get a chance to talk to the owner of this pretty clean, original (not restored) 71 Trans Am....

This 66 GTO won an award for Hardtop category.

This 66 GTO won Top Convertible....really nice car!

At home, after the run....

Hey well done Leigh, kind of a no brainer you'd win....
With that awesome beast you own, looks like stiff competition  but...
Some nice cars in N.S.W

Congrats phil

On a side note I was saddened to learn that Holden will be closing up shop.

Leigh you have a beautiful car well deserved award.  Spent some time down under passing through while in the Air Force (the beer is pretty strong reminded me of German beer) but never seen anything like the cars in the photos.  Some very outstanding cars.

I think it is really cool seeing such great cars down there. I am curious to know about parts availability and the price of gas and if that has any effect on the popularity of the older muscle cars.

Thanks, all.  Very Happy

That would be the biggest American Car show in Sydney. The one in Melbourne pulls more cars as, believe it or not, their car culture is even larger than Sydney.
The big national "Street Machine" style car shows that cover all makes will pull 1800+ cars.

Chris.....gee, mate...I get two trophies and now everyone calls me a trophy hunter.....lol....maybe next show I'll actually detail it properly and I might pick up something else?  Shocked Laughing

We had over 500 classic cars go to this weekend's Cars and Coffee meeting in Fremantle, Western Australia this weekend, even though less than 30 klicks down the road we had a major organised Car Show (motorvation) going on all weekend.  I guess no everyone wants to see blowers rising out of bonnets (Hoods) and clowns doing burnouts till gear breaks.

Leigh, your car is a credit too you, and the Mustang guys know a great looking car when they see one in person.   After all, the only real view they ever see of Firebirds, are the taillights.   Razz Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
