Its a clone. Original black on black though. When I bought it I thought is was an se because it had t tops. Little did I know way back then. Went back and forth many times during the resto whether or not to do so, but that's what I wanted so the rest is history....

Looks really great. I noticed the little white stickers in the driver door jam which is a nice touch. I have the thread and materials and still need to do that.

Thanks for the positive comments. Glad you noticed the sticker on the door jamb. It was a combination of something I ordered from Ames, and I made one off of a template that I think Pozar put on the site awhile ago. I wanted to do one on the pass. door reflecting the c n c tops but don't know 1. if they had one 2. what it looks like. I saw a 77 grand prix in Hershey, original with low mileage and cnc tops, but there was no sticker on the door and no paper work. One of the hardest things to find was an original radio. I looked for a couple of years to find an affordable one. Ended up with one a guy took out of his 76 ta when he bought it new. Perfect condition and a great price. The tape is "Village People-Macho Man". Cant think of anything more appropriate for a 70's trans am than that! lol.

I have gold 77 Ws6 15x7 Se wheels for that if you were interested. Good shape, needs cleanup all original.   Would part with now. I dont think your wheels being 15x8 were for a 77. if you were trying to keep it all 77 or not.

All I have to say is wow! That is one pretty car. You should be real proud of that thing. Any chance I could get you to create some door tags for me? Willing to pay you if you are interested.

Thanks again for the positive comments. I am getting ready to start a 79, hope it comes out as nice.
FormTa, I would be more than glad to help you out with the door tags. Cant say that I would charge anything. Send me an email, the pm for me doesn't work as that email is bad. My new email is:
morgandane@zoominternet.net

Boosted, I am interested in 15x7 wheels, almost bought a set at one point but things came up. See the comment above about sending me an email. I know the 8" are not correct, but they came with the car and I prefer the look of the wider wheel. I would like to have a correct set though.

Just an FYI concerning my resto. As I stated the car is original Black on Black (code 19). I bought it out of Fla, picking it up was an adventure in itself. I knew very little about Trans Ams in general when I bought it, even though I had owned an 85, and an 82 firebird which I bought new. I had always wanted a second gen. Car was very rough. I did all of the work myself including paint. Excluding motor work. I used N.O.S. parts as much as I could, and any repro parts were gm licensed, or the best quality I could find. Took me over 5 years, but I have probably 2 1/2 years actual build time. Randy Combs did the dash bezel, Ky yeti supplied many needed parts as well. There were many other members here where I got parts and many thanks to all who take the time to part cars and supply good parts.

Amazing job! PRetty cool story that you did it all yourself! I wish I had all the knowledge to do that or the room! I am looking to build a garage but we just bought the other 1/2 of the Duplex and are starting the conversion to a single home come Spring (coming quick). Ordering some parts for my car now while I can
