Someone else just requested this link, but of no use as is. Can someone 'repair' it? I tried and it didn't work.

New poster, former lurker here. Just got a '72 Esprit and excited to get working on it!

Had my fingers crossed that you could get the pictures back up. The previous owner messed up the wiring trying to do the gauge swap so I have no oil pressure, engine temp, or voltage displays on the dash (also knocked out the headlights, so that's another adventure). Fantastic write up, thanks for posting. Hoping to get to the wiring late summer/fall.

I'm more of a wiring diagram person, does anybody know of a reliable wiring diagram for the instrument cluster? Still trying to find my way around these forums and I didn't see anything for a '72.

Welcome to TAC, I've been trying to restore the pics but I don't have some of them and trying to get them back from photobucket has been a challenge. I will resolve soon and I'll upload a wiring diagram as well.

I decided to change out the dummy lights in my 71 Firebird and install a set of Rally gauges I put together from a hodgepodge of gauge clusters I had. I am using the original Speedometer and installed it into a new housing (It has the Brake only light). The housing was one that had a 16 pin receptacle. I had a functioning 8K tach, and used that, I got the clock to work as well. Tomorrow I plan on installing the gauges and will post how it goes.
Thanks for the great post!

What a great post.  Thanks for your time.  I have a 70 Esprit and have the  gauges ready to go in.  I think I could tackle it if there were pictures.

I got tied up with a lot of other stuff to fix, replace and repair on my 71, but I did manage to finish up the rally gauge conversion. Everything worked great with no issues! I am very happy with the "New" rally gauges. I even got the clock to work properly and it has been keeping pretty accurate time. I had a set of Rally gauges that I cleaned up and put on new lenses. I used the original speedometer in the Rally housing so it kept the single "Brake" light. I did install a new printed circuit board and made sure all the lights worked as they should. The original gauges had a 12 pin connector, but my rally gauge housing had the 16 pin connector. That wasn't really hard to change, just had to re pin the 16 pin connector which wasn't to hard to figure out.

All in all it was a pretty easy conversion to do as this thread topic really serves as a great guide! Thanks Jack for taking the time to write this thread!

Here is a pic of before-
