301 turbo thats been sitting

I might be picking up a 301 turbo t/a....its been sitting for a few years...anything different thant the usual that needs to be done to it before starting?  Thanks!!

 The 301 was built on the same tooling as the previous Pontiac V-8s.

 So very often the lack of proper maintenance caused one or more of this engines
systems to fail... adding to the uninformed legend.

 If I had to distill the biggest deal would be the coking of oil to the turbo. So many
dumb-asses were so very clueless that it became fairly common.

 Please get good info before doing anything dumb. Just reply here...
