I notice you used HD Bilsteins. Maybe that's why they were so stiff. I believe they have standard duty Bilsteins that would be closer to original service.

I will give the OP an update on my driving impressions of my Koni Red shocks and PTFB GT springs. I have to say that the description on the PTFB website is spot on. I would say that the handling of my 1976 Trans Am would be on par with my DD 01 Mustang GT. I was very happy with the rebound rate that I set the shocks at and the reaction of the springs during driving. I haven't driven my car hard through corners or anything, but cruising through some back roads I was impressed with the tight and crisp cornering. I would most definitely recommend the Koni Red shocks to anyone in their TA.

I have Koni Red shocks  8040-1017
The ones that are adjustable by pushing the upper shaft down and turning?
The instructions are cryptic and hard to fully understand. They are not clear online either..
How did you adjust them?
I have PTFB GT springs and Koni Reds in front too.

I'm very interested in how you set the shocks up.
Thanks!

How do the Afco street shocks compare to that mix, some of the suspension guys push that brand.
