just having trouble confirming this. my firewall tag says y84 but it has dark brown dash and center console. tan seats and carpet. this seam right?

Different color interiors could be ordered, SE or not...have a look at your cowl tag to get the number/code for your interior if you are unsure if it's original

Mixed color interiors were available throughout the 2nd gens, but I believe the dark/light brown came in the 80 & 81 years. I know my cousins 81 SE has that same interior.

Thanks guys. Just hoping I made the right decision getting the car
81 black SE 5.0 auto Canadian car. Now I just have to learn how to tell if it's original engine.

I think the 64B on your cowl tag stands for tan cloth, and in my 81 SE the seats, door panels, carpet, hard plastics, and seat belts are all tan, but the dash, console, and steering wheel are a darker brown.

i actually passed on the car and got a 80 burgandy trans am with red interior. it was a hard decision.
