Why not put a project car as the banner from time to time? I love seeing restored birds as much as everybody else but the projects is what keeps the majority of our sponsors in business.

I also have the perfect candidate.  :-P

Excellent suggestion Bryan and I will keep a certain candidate in mind.  Nexts months car started out as a project on TAC, so its not to far off base.  I will post the next banner on Monday since I don't have the needed access at my house.

The time has come to pass the torch.  This month's logo is no stranger to the community and has ran the race from project car to completed show goer.  In this post you can see the effort put into this restoration.  Great job on the resto and congrats on being the July 2012 logo car.

Up this month is a personal favorite of mine.  I am a huge fan of the color\decal combination.  JJ TA's stunning black 78 with 5 shades of blue decal set is a stunning representation of a rare selection.  Add in the grey accented YO snowflakes and I'm sure it is a real favorite wherever it goes.  Here is a great pic of JJ and his girlfriend at a recent show.

Congrats to JJ TA for being TAC's August logo car.

Next up on TAC is our first project bird and our first SD.  Bryan is a long standing member of TAC and has quite a few firebirds to call his own.  You can follow the transformation of his 74 SD TA in the project section http://transamcountry.com/community/index.php?topic=36290.msg327751#msg327751.  Congrats Bryan!

It is hard to believe the year has flown by so fast.  Just three more banner birds left before I get to open Christmas presents again.   :-D

This months banner bird was nominated by last months.  Gary or Indyta1989 as most know him on TAC has been a loooong time member.  During his time here on TAC he has had some exceptionally nice birds, but this one is near and dear to his heart.  Well...I'll just let this quote from Gary's project post speak for itself.  Congrats Gary!

Some of you may recall that I purchased Bryan's 1969 Firebird 12+ months ago for a special project.

I have looked to purchase a 1969 Trans Am for as long as I can remember.  However, the price of the real 1969 Trans Am's continue to move out of sensible reach.  Bryan's 1969 Firebird would make for an excellent starting point to make my own.

Across March-April 2010 I disassembled the firebird completely, got it to the media blaster and dropped the shell off for paint and body work in May 2010.

Fast Forward 12 months, the firebird shell is now painted.  I got the Firebird home May 2011 from the body shop.  The 12 month duration was not a surprise as I utilized a local friend who has painted a number of firebirds for me in the past.  He does the body work and paint part-time since he has a full-time day job.

Across the past 12 months I had the engine and transmission rebuilt. Now that the firebird is back in my garage I have the engine and transmission dropped in, converted the front drum brakes using an inline tube disc brake kit, got the wheels and tires mounted and various trim installed.

I purchased the new metal reproduction Trans Am hood and I am very pleased with the overall fit and quality.

Next up: finish the engine compartment assembly and then work on the interior. I am targeting to use the Holley Avenger EFI carb, MSD distributor and RARE exhaust manifolds and pipes. I am likely going to install an aftermarket AC system (vintage AIR) once everything else is completed and debugged.

Click here for a quick slideshow showing the progress over the past 12 months.

Thanks Bryan for the nomination :-)

It is that time again :D when we get to celebrate another TAC members pride and joy.  Up for the month of November is General Mopar's 79' Survivor.  Some may say that Brown just wasn't a good color for the TA, but I would disagree.  This example is a non-ac W72 4spd with WS6 trim.  What more could you want?

For more pics of this great bird visit his Show & Tell post http://transamcountry.com/community/index.php?topic=40714.0

Since December starts on a Saturday I'm going to jump the gun and post the last banner of the 2012 year.

Each and every banner on TAC represents someones pride and joy, but some represent much more.  For Keith, this 75' Trans Am represents a lifetime of ups and downs, set backs and achievements.  Keith has been a member of TAC going back thru two server crashes.  December of this year marks 33 years he will have owned this amazing car.  To be more specific,  Dec. 10, 1979.  Even more this isn't just another car Keith bought during his life; it is was his first car.  Also known as 75fire on TAC and other firebird forums he has shared old and new images.  Here are a few links to help us appreciate Keith's loyalty to such a great car!

In a recent post Keith wrote....

"32 years ago today, 12/10/1979, I got my '75 Trans Am, 45,975 miles. The engine was rebuilt in '82 and I finally had it repainted in '97. I'm one of  the lucky or smart ones that have been able to hang on to it this long. It's my first car and my only Pontiac."

I bought mine on 8/8/81 and when I lived on the farm I always took them off in the fall and stored them in the basement...then hauled em back upstairs to put them back on in the spring. It's the only reason they still look new
