EGR Valve & gasket
« on: March 10, 2015, 01:30:59 PM »
I ordered an EGR valve & gasket for my 403 from Rockauto.  When I got them I noticed the valve has two small passages next to the part that actually sits down inside the intake that the gasket doesn't account for.  Do they do anything?
Should I take my awl & punch a few holes in the gasket?

Haven't noticed that before, the gasket is certainly standard. I'd just fit it as is, appears to be one types fits many, perhaps.

It is.  The 2 holes are alignment holes for the backpressure transducer that the Pontiac 400 used (and maybe other engines as well).
