G'day Phil....yeah, heard about this through a local website when it happened...darn shame.
Personally, I've always been worried about those roll-on/roll-off ships - even just from a theft point of view. Even with containerised shipping, you're likely to get a scrape or two from careless loading and unloading.
I sure hope you can recover your costs from those idiots.

Leigh

Those situations seem so cut and dry.  It went on the boat nice and shiney and came off dented and scuffed.  Check please.

Seeing this almost makes me want to cry......looking at the damage to not only your beautiful TATA but to those other classics.  Such a shame.

Sorry to hear about this Phil and I hope you can get some restitution for this.

400 4-speed, 3.42 posi, performer rpm, hedman headers, comp cam, 6x heads.
Owned it since 1985, 2nd owner,, bought it with 23,000 miles on it.  Original engine and trans in storage.

I've seen these before, words can't describe how I would react in this situation, I would probably wind up in jail over that, I'm not a violent person at all, but that would probably cause me to snap. It would be one of those situations where they should just tell me about it, and let me stew over it a couple of days before seeing it. How was the problem presented to you? If they would've just said, "here's your car" I would've definately snapped on them.

Glad they're paying you out.....removing the images is probably to be expected, but I think it may be the exposure that might have pushed them to settle.

Good on you for fighting them.

The Internet can be a big companies Achillies heel as long as what you post is factual.  I have had to use it on a HUGE vendor.  They lied during a $600k project and it was documented well.   I went to their homepage and got every reseller's email for the entire U.S..

Emailed them all a copy of what had transpired.  The head of North American sales brought the company jet an a team of guys.  First thing they asked for was a retraction.  I made a roughly $300k shopping list of other stuff they sold and said "if this stuff shows up on our docks, I'll have to tell them all how you busted your butt for us"  It did, so I did.

My boss laughed his way to the bank on that one.  So the little guy can use it for leverage if the circumstances are right.

Nice! Same car repaired or an entirely different one?

Also, might be a good idea to change out your avatar if the settlement involved removing all pics of the mishap, just for your protection.

This is a different car I purchased from Ohio. I had it shipped by www.cheetahimports.com.au
Jessica and her father Kevin. Did a fantastic job shipping it out.... Not a problem at all and i would
recommend them to anyone....

I used a Lawyer by the name of Chris Hardman here in Australia to chase down Hoeugh. Chris is a customer of mine and he really went above

Quick synopsis....the original car (photos now removed) wasn't secured in the shipping container and played bumper cars from the US all the way Down Under. Let your imagination do the rest from there as it probably comes close to what the car looked like.

Forgot to mention !!!!

I had sales rep contact me last week about winning my import/export shipping service back.
He was wondering why I don't use the as a supplier anymore. I quickly explained to him after using them
for years I had one incident / claim after they organized a car to be shipped on my behalf.....
And how everyone went running and couldn't even call me back to see what agreement we could come to....

Funny how a year later, finally they look at the lost business and profit they're missing out on and now they wanna talk....  :x :x :x :x

Just shows you it's all about dollars and not customer service....
