I went out to CTC Autoranch just north of Fort Worth.  Man it was over 100 degrees out so I couldn't hang long.  Below are some pics of T/A's and Camaro's in the yard as of today.  I'm not affiliated in any way with the yard it's just close to my house and I like to share the finds.  enjoy....

This car is for sale as complete it has a good formula.

This hard top Camaro had a decent Tan console and headliner trim pieces.

This TA had 4 good 15x7 snowflakes with factory center caps.

This one had four good Turbo wheels I was quoted $400 for all four.

Blue 70 Firebird 350 missing front and rear body work but the motor was still in and the rear glass was in the back seat still looked good. I took pics of the engine ID but they were unreadable on the screen

Black Z-28 had four good rims still attached.  Somebody may need these babies for their Z  resto.  Didn’t ask for the price

The T-tops on the camaro looked good.

Swiss cheese anybody??  lol

Too bad the hood was gone the motor was still in place.

Something shiny cought my eye.  I noticed chrome valve covers on the Pontiac motor.  Not sure if its a W-72 so I took pics of the VIN and build tag.  I was headed for a heat stroke by the time I got to this one.

The rest of the pics are cars in the yard

Got the wife walking into the pic.  she was taken notes while I was shooting.

Theres a ton of full size cars I bet you could find a hand full of big blocks still under the hoods.

I would love to have that front valence if it didn't have alot of cracks in it.

But if he wanted $400 for those turbo wheels he probably would want $400 for that valence.

WHY, WHY, OH WHY can't I find a place like that around here?????  (North East PA)

Ironically enough, the LARGEST salvage yard on the upper East Coast is only half way across town from me.  There is but ONE 79 Espirit and ONE 81 Camaro there.  Everything else is garbage from the late 80's/early 90's.

I had a '68 Impala fastback just like the one in there.  Boy, wouldn't I love to spend a day in that yard.

geeesssshhh i was lookin high and low for 65 66 impala stuff just last week.

there must be a bunch of really cool cars in there. somebody should save all of em. then you could tour the yard exactly as you did the other day, but they would all be perfect.

I remember back in the 80's and 90's that the way the alot of junkyards looked in Georgia. That Vista Cruiser is a cool ride. If you can get the '70 alternator amd PS brackets they are 1970 only brackets!

Perfect. Lemme get the '70 shell, with the '74 nose, the '79-'81 spoiler, airdam and spats, the turbo dish 15x8 wheels, a BBC 454 even if it's a 215 HP dually version, and a set of WS6 bars and steering box.

thanks for the pics, i feel the same way wish i could find a scrap yard like there where I live and you would think since the majority of f-bodys built were built right here in cincinnati, ohio there would be alot of them in the scrap yards/roads but its like the total opposite

I grew up in OH near the PA/WV boarder and figured you northern boys would really appreciate the pics.  There’s another yard just north of Littlerock Air Force Base in Jacksonville AR.  The old man holds on to everything especially Jeep stuff.

I plan on making a trip up there in august myself.  They carry new glass for a decent price and I won't have to pay outrageous shipping on it.  didn't realize they had so many parts cars.

$400 for those turbo rims is WAY outta line IMO.  I think no more than $175 for a set in that condition would be a fair price.

Leigh, my brother in laws boss happens to own a huge car dealership empire.  Due to the success of that empire he has a very impressive personal collection that I was privileged enough to see.  I was very surprised to find a W-30 442 vista cruiser station wagon in there somewhere with less then 40k miles.  It was an amazing piece of history to me.

I used to visit junkyards on my lunch just to walk around.  Owners would freak when a guy wearing a necktie wants to visit.  I had one guy ask if I was with the EPA.

And for entertainment's sake, may I present what should be the Holy Grail of T/A junkyards in Canada... at any given time, 1500+ Camaros and Firebirds in stock.

http://www.davidt.com/vehicles/

But, based on experience, if you have to ask them how much it is, you can't afford it.

Went to this yard in September when it was 100 plus degrees and they acted like they did not want to sell anything. Sign said $5 to look at cars but they waived the fee but told me to not take anything off cars.
One of only a few yards off interstate that does not have high fence blocking cars from view. Definitely
worth stopping to look at cars.

Apparently in SC, they just crush them no matter how good of a condition they are in.  Even when they don't have a title to them or a VIN.  Shocked
