Texas Hill Country
« on: January 02, 2018, 11:51:37 AM »
Hi folks:
It looks like a move might be in my near future to the great state of Texas.
I'm looking at homes and small acreage (3 to 15 acres) in the Texas hill country particularly in the area of Fredricksburg (but not limited to Fredricksburg).
One of the homes I'm looking at is along 87 but I don't know how busy 87 is (traffic noise).
Are there any areas that I should be looking at?
Any tips regarding Texas hill country?
Any thoughts, recommendations, impressions, advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
  Jeff

My mom lives very close to there in lakeway.

It has gotten very congested there and is still very difficult to get around.

Hwy 87 is continual traffic.  I don't know how many cars are out there at night but the times I've been going through fresricksberg hey 87 was all cars all the time.

It looks like a nice place though.

A lot of growth in the hill country but it’s still God’s country out there. No better place in Texas!

Wow you guys are right about 87. The realtor sent me a video yesterday standing out side, continual road noise.

So the search continues..

Well fellow members I finally made it to the glorious Lone Star state.

After much looking my wife and I found a perfect home for us in Canyon Lake.

I so love Texas, I only wish we would have made the move sooner.

The move was hectic and we’re still unpacking but we feel blessed every day to live in Texas.

I haven’t driven the Brewster around much due to the dreaded hot start issue but I have all the parts to fix it now I just need some spare time. I’ve been spending every spare minute unpacking and still have a ton of boxes to unpack including the garage tools.  :-P

I posted in the Houston car club thread that I’d like to participate in get togethers. There is not many things I like more than cruising in my 2nd gen.
