Jay nice car. Is the formy going to be a lot lighter than the T/A and are you keeping the T/A too?

Thanks Guys!
Conrad,
I plan to return the TA back to a saturday nite cruise-in type car, all stock and yes keep it. At first I will put the formulas motor in the ta to move it around but eventually buy a complete L75 motor and have it rebuilt long term. The Formula will continue my FAST habit and see how fast we can go. The Formula should be a couple of hundred lbs lighter just from the non air and non power windows. I hope to find another 200 lbs here and there for a total of a 400lb difference approx 3580. But, we will have to see. The first chance I get I will weight the formula and get the diet going.
Right now it has a few issues to handle. 1. The headliner has fallen and the sail panels received some sun damage the way the car was stored. 2. I have some steel wheels in the works for it with baby moon caps. The 15x6 wheels I plan to use weigh only 20.8lbs each 3. Considering adding the formula stripe pkg 4. I need to get a stock tach installed. 5. It needs a good personalized car tag (suggestions?) 7 characters max. i.e. 7T4MULA FASTRCR 74NFAST 4MULA74 10SEC74 FORMULA
I am getting pretty excited about it. I will keep you guys informed.

Jay,will they let you run a VFN fiberglass hood because the factory formula hoods are (very) heavy. I think they make one that looks factory but is lighter.

You want a light Formula hood, get an Anvil Auto's carbon fibre hood....very light, bolts on and looks stock.

Does it have to be Formula specific tach? Trying to remember what I have in the parts pile. I can look this weekend if you want.

Thanks guys. I am on the trail of a couple of tachs now. I went ahead and bought a new cluster lens as well. The other gauges are in show quality condition. So, I need a pretty good lookin tach to match em. On the hoods, the carbon fiber hoods are not legal. On the VFN stuff I have not found an aftermarket fiberglass hood that accepts the stock hood boots and ductwork yet. I may just have to use the stock hood, luckily it has been correctly cutout and has screens.

No doubt and it has the correct M/C even though it should be black, not grey. Nice looking car Jay! Good luck with your 10 second barrier.
