hello everyone,I am searching for the correct carb for my 72 trans am.Everything on the block matches up nicely except the carb.The one on it now is correct for a 74 TA.The correct Q-Jet number for my auto trans 72 is 7042270.This may be a tough find but any help is greatly appreciated.......

I am hoping someone here can help me. I was going through some parts I have had for years and found a Q-jet in pieces. The carb. # is 704227X. The X is because the last # is not very legible. It looks like a 0 or a 6. I spoke to a reputable carb. builder who said that it must be a 0 because they never made a 6. I have a pic. of my carb.# I will e-mail if anyone is interested. If anyone has some pics of this carb. and it's # I would greatly appreciate any help verifying it. Thanks, Jamie.
