Autozone repair guide

I just stumbled across some decent info Autozone has posted on their site. It may  be useful to other novices on TAC. They have guides for a bunch of different cars but the one people on this site might find useful is here:

That might come in handy if a shop manual isn't available.  :D

What manual is available that would have the blow up diagrams of the body sections like the front end?  I bought the Fisher body manual thinking it would have them but did not.

The Factory Assembly manual would have the front sheet metal views, since that was part of what was assembled in the assembly plant.

As you found out, the Fisher body manual pretty much just deals with the cowl and back, because that is what the Fisher body plant put together and sent to the assembly plant. The front end was installed at the assembly plant. The Fisher manual is needed if you want to know how to work on your windows particularly.

www.78ta.com is where they are sold.

Looks like you're like me and have 79's, so last I looked, only the 80 model assembly manual is available, but it is the same body as 79-81, so still works.

And the 79 Fisher body manual should be there, as well as 79 Service manual. Also, even though the 79 service manual was a supplement to the larger 78 manual, you only have to buy the 79 service manual CD, since he includes the 78 manual on it too.

He also has a Firebird parts catalogs CD, so you can look up GM parts numbers.

I really don't need any info on a 1976 Plymouth Arrow-Import, but thanks!

Seriously, that's a great source of info. They even have wiring diagrams for a lot of cars.
