QUADRA-AID CARB SERVICE
‘REBUILDING THE QUADRAJET THE WAY GM SHOULD HAVE’

Back ground: I learned on the Q-Jet back in 1985, modifying and racing a Monte Carlo SS. Had it apart so many times for hop up tricks, it became second nature how to take it apart and back together. These were the harder, computer-controlled carbs. I never for got how to do it. Now, in 2010, I have rebuilt approximately 40 Quadra jets for friends, forum members, and my own.  Over time, I’ve acquired the equipment and tools needed to do MOST repairs to a Q-jet.
I follow Cliff Ruggle’s book and the 3 recipes he lists in it, based on what the customer’s needs are.

Also, some carbs will need replacement parts outside of Cliff's parts kits. Sometimes, the vacuum breaks on the fron and rear are damaged, bent, or missing. Those parts need to be ordered in addition to the rebuild kit, if needed.

I would STRONGLY recommend any carb being rebuilt; use a parts kit by Cliff Ruggles.
They are THE best out there, bar none. Cliff has, and will ship the kits directly to me, saving time. You, the customer, can ship the carb directly to me, or have the kit and carb shipped together from you.
Upon arrival, your carb will be disassembled completely. ALL the parts will be cleaned, and degreased in an Ultra-sonic Parts cleaner, at 170 degrees, sometimes twice for the really dirty ones.

They come in looking like this or much, much worse:

The inner brass pieces are polished, bores are cleaned up all by hand. The carb is gone over with a small wheel to remove and clean anything missed in the hot tanking cleaner. These are the little things that make a difference. This is included in the basic rebuild of EVERY carb.
The hot tank Ultrasonic Cleaner

Because the parts cleaner takes the carb to its natural gray finish, the option to have the air horn and main body coated in the Eastwood paint, is an option. The throttle plate is left to its natural aluminum finish, as well as the choke housing. The coloring is a nominal optional charge.
Colored Carb:

Depending on the customer’s motor requirements, certain passages and tubes need to be drilled larger then stock, or removed and new ones pressed in. There is a nominal charge for this.
Drilling tubes, removing others:

ALL used parts are bagged up and returned to the customer when the carb is completed, I don’t hoard parts, or cut corners. You paid for the parts, you deserve to get them back.

Because every carb and request is unique, one set price isn’t fair. Some require more or less work then the next. Therefore, each price quoted is specific to YOUR carb. Most are done for APPROXIMATLY 320.00 or LESS. THIS IS LABOR and SHIPPING ONLY, NO PARTS!!

I work on them a few hours a night after my full time job, and usually finish them up on a weekend. Current time to receive one, rebuild it, and ship it back is 10-14 days.
I accept PAYPAL, (add 3% total as they keep a portion), or a personal check.

For you guys that are asking from TAC and on 78ta, YES, YES, I'm still rebuilding the Quadrajet. As long as there is a need for the Qjet, I'll keep making them road worthy for you guys.

I just got a carb back and agree with the other reviews (notice a pattern here). I haven't installed mine yet but the communication and turn around time was more than I could have asked for. You will not be put on the back burner and forgotten about! Thanks again Tom
