That is pretty cool Bill. Is this an entire assembly or do you convert the existing assembly?

Pretty nice.....I'd like them, but I have an issue with requiring one section of my lights to be the amber flashers....darn it.

Leigh don't let a small detail like that stop you Laughing
Just do it, what's the worst that can happen?........a fine " if " a cop actually notices it.
I'm going to remove the export lights from my T/A and refit the original US lights, I couldn't care less if it legal or not.

Leigh, are the lenses amber?  The LED taillights I am working on use white LEDs.  My lenses are tinted pretty dark and the white LEDs should light em up well and they would work fine with the amber lenses as well.  It's pretty easy to customize the intensity for different sections too.
I have to get my tail in gear and finish this project, I'll try to post pics soon.  I bought 100 10mm leds and I plan to set them up in single file horizontally in the 74-78 tail lights.  I admit it may look a bit sparse but I am going to assemble and see before I change anything.  LEDs are cheap anyhow, it's the time that costs.  Total investment for the LEDs, reflector plate and harnesses has been around $50 so far.  These will install in the factory housing with no mods and use the factory harnesses I modify to remain stock appearing.
Although I have to say the RAM tail lights use more LEDs than mine will and the RAM ones look pretty sweet!!

LEDs are available in all sorts of colors, so I wouldn't think it'd be that big of a deal to get the maker to substitute some amber ones in that section or use white ones as John suggests and count on the lense to make the color you want.  A savvy retailer would know how to get that done through the supplier.

There was a local kid here I met years ago who built his own circuit board to make the turn signals on his 80 TA sequential like the old 60's Thunderbirds an Cougers had. They were pretty cool.
