Hey Joe, you know I have always had a thing for Build Sheets. And I have been wondering about something for awhile. Then this SE popped up on eBay with these two Build Sheets. See below.

If you remember, my Y81 Build Sheet had masking tape on it. The Original Owner told me he found it just laying ontop of the back seat. Luckly, he arrived at the dealership as his car was being unloaded and was able get to the car before the dealership cleaned it up.

Now, every BS that I have ever found, (under seats etc.) never had any masking tape on them.  Do you think it is possible that a BS with masking tape on it, was the final one to be placed in the car? Maybe it was placed or taped in a different location?

Now if anyone has ever found a BS with masking tape on it under a seat, blows my theory right out the window. Laughing

Interesting.  The ones under the seat never have masking tape on them.  That one with the tape must have been taped onto the car, and I suppose it's not the one they're supposed to hide, but I don't know what that tells us.  I have not been able to find anybody who can tell me where they were taped.  If you've ever been on an assembly plant tour, then you know how build sheets are hung somewhere really obvious.  In "Firebird" by Gary Witzenburg, he published about a half dozen assembly line photos, and you can't find any build sheets.

They way they were built, there was apparently a body line and a chassis line, and then they were combined.  So there must have been two build sheets, and of course they had to be synchronized when they started out.

I had a car with 2 build sheets myself - it was a 1981 Oldsmobile Toronado. Both sheets were for my car.

Joe and I also bought a 1978 Trans Am that also had two identical build sheets... one behind the rear seat as you would expect and the second one on top of the gas tank.  Here's the link:  http://www.firebirdtransamparts.com/adventure/78elise/78elise.htm

Our car was delivered with 3 known build sheets. One under the passenger-side rear seat cushion (still there), one with tape on it found on the front seat and the final is the ultra rare master double page with carbon paper in between, again on the front seat .

I also had found three build sheets in a Van Nuys built car, 2 stuck together under the pass. side carpet right by the toe pan (i couldn't save them due to water damage and being stuck to the seam sealer) and the other under the pass. seat.

On a Norwood car, i found a build sheet glued to the rear seat trunk divider "the metal part". It took me an hour to get it off  Mad

Here is a wierd one atleast to me, i found a build sheet above the headliner on my Y82 car ?? Confused Usually i find them there on A body cars
