Can any of you guys with a W50 formula be talked into providing a closeup photo of the door lettering? ideally with a ruler or tapemeasure on the photo.. or just take a few measurements of the size of the lettering together with a photo...

the reason for this request is that my painter would like to make the letters in paint instead of decals - and I think it could be a cool feature on the car.

I don't see where Dan ever updated this post with the Platinum W72 I sold him. He finished up a few things after he got it and I have to say it turned out really nice!

that was a sweet 79 4 speed formy.  i owned it for awhile but ended up keeping my brown ta over the formy so sold it through the shop.

did the resto work in my garage and installed all the decals.

just bought that 305 81 4speed formy out of NC yesterday, my friend and i did a 1000 mile round trip to get it and it is very legit car.

ws6 too and loaded, white over red with blue stripes its very cool, no pics yet.

Cant believe i have not posted here.
Mine is a 73 , originally a 400 car , was imported to norway by previous owner in 2010/2011 , i owned it since december 2012.

It was imported from Sacramento, i found the previous the owners name in the glovebox , seems he registerd it in 2006. So i guess it was restored around that time.

I have tried to get in touch with the previous owner to get details on some specs on the 455 (cam info, head milling etc) but no luck.  i did trace the name to: Trans Am Club of America, Golden State Chapter Inc  http://www.transamclub.com/   and made a post on their forum page before it became inactive due to no activity for 3 months.

I started out blank on knowledge, almost not knowing wich way to turn a nut when i bougth the car, to swaping out the open rear end to a limited slip diff in my storage space

i for one think it sounds great, and runs good, but could always run faster

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mag2OVE1qVM" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mag2OVE1qVM</a>

But i really do enjoy the car, and even now when i look out the window and see the car i almost have to pinch my arm to belive i actualy own this car.

and i made numerous upgrades to valvetrain, carburettor and ignition, and some cosmetic interior.

Wow!  Just saw this and just wanna say what an awesome ride!!!

What air cleaner do you use since the Formulas have such a tight hood clearance?

What air cleaner do you use since the Formulas have such a tight hood clearance?

well it is better to show you than to explain it, it came with the car, home made ramair filter that lines up with the snorkel holes in the hood, i did modify the hollley chockehorn, since it had scrapemarks on the aircleaner lid, not even 1/8" clerance, so the chockehorn had to go, and i bougth a K%N stubstack to hopefully aid airflow. it is integrated in the bottompart.

And a partial picture of the aicleaner assembly:

I still think the car gets too little air trough the aircleaner assembly.

To really grasp whats going on here you'd really have to be there. That shot was just before the tire took flight.

What caught my attention was watching the tire bounce between the wall & the car as I was pulling it over.....lol! Would have put most other guys into tears.

I think so....it is certainly has that uncommon quality that I like. Besides, I feel I got a SMOKIN deal, made even better since I had a free, fully-functional Muncie in the garage! I will need a pass floor pan and at least a partial trunk pan, but it has very nice undercarriage, solid frame and tail panel.

car was originally Honduras maroon, painted white (cameo?) a loooonng time ago. No doubt the car would not be in this condition had the transmission never blown.

The farther you get into that 75 formula, the more odd and rare you are going to find out it is.  The first and last year for many parts and features.   Such a fun car.

It wasn't cheap but a TA in the same shape would have been twice as much probably . One of only 367 made. Original everything almost. 4100 original miles.
