Dex-Cool
« on: November 15, 2024, 06:56:11 AM »
Would anyone know who makes AC Delco coolant?   I don't use it in my T/A but truck is due for a flush. The Delco coolant is triple the cost.  I think it was used in third gens.
Thanks for any assistance.

Dex-Cool is the orange stuff made for GM and by GM, kind of like "dexos" oil (which is mostly just marketing). Multiple brands, such as your overpriced ACDelco, make an acceptable version of Dex-Cool coolant and you'll see the Dex-Cool logo on the bottle. My commuter car is a little Chevy Spark and it uses GM Dex-cool. I just use the Prestone pre-mixed 50/50 shown here:

Thank you for the help. I looked up the MSD number on the delco bottle and the documented filed with MSD for safety data shows it is actually made by Prestone. Big score, amazingly cheaper priced for same stuff.
I never like taking the cheap way out with anything especially coolant that can damage gaskets rot metal.
