Steering column panel retainers

Have been reading how these plastic retainers have been difficult to get for years, spoken to a few that were looking at getting them 3D printed.
A few are also now offered reproduction...as it turns out, they are simply sourcing from the DZUS retainer selection, hence the altered end shape. That may not be a bad thing if they are hard to align. No idea, my dash doesn't use them. The 3D print, if it eventuates, will be stock shape.

The originals are also clearly cast with DZUS. So I guess perhaps not hard to source unless supply hasn't always been there, people just didn't know where to look.

Hmm. I’d never thought to seek out a set of these. One of mine was missing at some point and a previous owner simply used a j nut and screw which has worked. I’ve never actually seen the “receiving” end on the underside of the dash

Mine still uses original dash part sections there, to a point, but the extra packing of leather trim makes it sit differently where the retainer would be. I've never even had a set to test.
