I’ve never seen one with a wood grain bezel, nice upgrade.

I like it better than the Crome look - needs a door accent to go with it. I saw this when the post came up and said I like it to myself - guess that doesn’t help with responses….

If you want action, maybe start a thread on oil type, weight synthetic. That'll get em all fired up.
Nice work by the way. I'm just not a wood grain kinda guy.

Ha, thats funny Luke.
I like the look. I have a couple of dash bezels and was thinking about doing a woodgrain on one with some veneer work. I have always liked the way the early Lexus cars looked with the light wood work trim.

Thought there'd be more response, perhaps why or how. Hard to create posts people find of interest.
Ben, l think the wood grain looks great. Probably better with a wood grain dash. Kind of throw back to some of the earlier GTO’s. I think some years they used real wood on the dashes. I am not sure they used real wood on the shifter plates or not. I think in the early 70’s some of the GP’s used real wood on the dash trim. I don’t know if any other GM line did.
As far as response or lack of it from others on the forum don’t take offense. The majority of people on the site aren’t members or forgot their passwords, making it impossible for them to respond. Leaving about 10% who could reply and many don’t bother or can’t think of something to say good or bad. In my mind any activity on the forum is good and often one topic leads to another. Keeping things interesting.

When you do something to a 4 speed shifter bezel, I’ll be all over it.

And yet I find all unrelated posts of interest, most posts I seek further information for others' don't apply to mine at all.

Did firebirds/formulas with a wood grain desk appliqué have wood grain on the shifter too?
Nice job on your rosewood shifter plate.
[edit] my bad. I guess I was thinking of the ‘68 wood grain shifter bezel

No different. Make an inlay plate shim, wrap it. But the tiny border would barely even show the grain. So go and do it, post if you feel like sharing. Or don't.
