Hood/fender alignment
« on: May 05, 2023, 11:32:14 AM »
Does anyone know if the front edge of hood and fenders line up or is the hood held back ? My front clip was already removed when I got car and without putting it back on I was wondering how it should be
I have shaker hood removed from adapter base and I would like it to be in center of hood opening before I rivet it back on
Still want to replace a couple more pieces and paint front clip separately from car before I reinstall
Thanks in advance

The leading edge of the hood lines up with the front bumper cover. There is room for minor adjustment of the hood release latch/mechanism, if needed. I completed the hood install and adjustment on my 1981 TA, about a year ago.

So, the fenders should be 3/16 or so out farther than the hood. I think Kerry has the gm factory gaps somewhere.  Maybe he can post them.
