Camaro Parts Manual
« on: February 22, 2023, 05:13:24 PM »
Does anyone have or know of a downloadable version of the GM parts Manual such as the 67-76 or 76-81 but for Camaro, not Firebird? It would come in handy for comparing part numbers and referencing in a few posts.

I can't recall ever hearing about a Camaro download, but you would think with their popularity that someone would have a downloadable file.

I only had a quick look before had to go to work, but kept bringing up current restoration parts catalogs from shops, not GM official manuals.

I'm only aware of a GM division parts catalog that covers all of the car models within the division.  I managed to befriend a counter man at a local Chevy dealer in the 80s and asked him to save me their old book Pontiac catalog when they periodically replaced it with a new revision.  It is a multivolume set with books showing exploded illustrations (green pages) as well has books with the part listings (white pages).  The Chevrolet catalog would include the Camaro as well as all of the other models.

I'm sure most of those catalogs were trashed without anyone thinking about preserving them for future use.

Thanks Warren and Steve. I haven't had much of a chance to look since either.  I see some are listed for sale, just like the Pontiac versions. I have a few Camaro Assembly Manuals, but nothing that's either to quickly look up part numbers etc. It takes many hours to compile a list of details no one cares about and post them online.

I have a lot of Pontiac parts catalogs, full size.  There is an illustration volume and a part numbers volume.  Together you have a stack of paper over 6 inches high, but I have no idea how many pages.  I bought the Firebird version on CD that was so popular.  I use it often.

So I would think yes look for "Chevrolet" and they should be very common.  Depending on what Chevrolet wanted to print, you'll find different print dates covering different model model years.  They cover several years.  They could have printed a supplement in 1967.  The print date will determine the state of superceded part numbers and there are always book updates in there as well.

Somebody might have created an online resource that is better than just scanning the old print manuals.  I don't know how they did that GM part number decoder that I accessed through maxperformancinc forum, but that's a fabulous piece of work.
