The term pinion snubber has been around a long time. Mopar perfected them in the 60s, early 70s. Very rarely at the drags, did you see a Mopar with traction bars. Their rears were set farther fwd on the leaf springs, and the pinion snubber had an adjustable bracket or mount. Cured the spring wrap up problem us GM, and Ford people suffered with. But we had-ta admit, low hanging traction bars were just plain, "cool". (Even when you did bash them on everything on the street.)
