Old New Stock Weather Stripping
« on: August 18, 2022, 02:15:13 PM »
Another question about weather stripping.
I see some new old stock for sale online sometimes.
For example there was a guy up there in Canada selling some original T Top weather stripping in the BOX from GM.
Do you suggest going with something like that or I am better off buying new after-market?
I get worried about 40+ year old rubber sitting in a box?
Should I be concerned?
Thanks again

I would get Metros and not bother with old stock.

I bought some NOS t top weatherstrip for my TATA. After I made the purchase I began to worry that I had wasted my money, and that it would be dry rotted or bad. BUT, it was really nice!! The rubber looked the same as the new stuff I bought for the doors. The fit was perfect. If the seller says its a good servicable product I think I would take the chance. I paid a premium for the nos I bought though.
