Out Of Sight - Bluetooth Stereo Feedback
« on: August 28, 2021, 07:42:40 PM »
I thought I would share this product. I wanted to still have the stock radio in the car since the dash is not cut and been restored. I have a Focal Speakers and Amp in the trunk. I can say this stereo is awesome for those who want a hide-away option with hands-free calling. I have the Mark IV unit and was the only hide-away unit I could find with hands-free calling. I play everything from my phone so it works great for me. Below is the module (also have Dakota gauge modules). I did a hidden USB in the console. Highly recommended.

Thanks for sharing, in the past I've used a plug in module (back of the head unit of a more modern unit) but have not seen anything like this before. Can you please provide additional detail as to where you hard wired this module?

I am curious as well.  Also curious about the Dakota stuff.

It does seem like a bit of overkill to me.

Any amp with a $20 Bluetooth receiver works very well.

Sorry for the delay - Here is the wiring schematic and the guy who did the install also used RCA jacks (4 channel amp) to connect to the Focal Amp Stereo I have.... You do not have to have a working radio (mine is stock for looks)... you can use with or without an amp. I know it seems overkill however the car did have a Retrosound unit taken out and I had all the Focal high-end stuff included so I wanted to take advantage if it. They do have lesser models that do less but have the same quality.

I'll post the Dakota RTX Gauge Review once I get my car out of the shop...Below is a teaser photo, I'll get better ones in another post. Thanks

Just a suggestion. Why not just use a Bluetooth amp ? I used this one and installed the little head unit in center console and amp in trunk . They do make other versions of Bluetooth amps  as well. I do like working everything off my phone and still like having the factory head unit in the dash i never have to turn on anymore .

That was my point too.

I have one of these you can use with any amp for $30

I'm currently building a system for my '79 Z28. I'm going with a bluetooth amp and no head unit too.

I went with this amp, Infinty Kappas front and rear, plus a Kicker flat 12" Subwoofer so I can still stow the T-tops.

I chose this one
