How hard is it to remove the standard 1979 base Firebird steering wheel and replace it with the formula steering wheel that was standard on the Trans Am?  Are any other parts needed besides the formula steering wheel and horn button?

You also need the horn contact assembly and spring/plunger pin inside. The steering hub collar too probably if not part of wheel. Associated screws and maybe different spring. If you have the complete steering wheel ready to mount then possibly only need the contact spring assembly, 3 parts.

Pulling up random google pics these are what you need, available new and used.

I have a blue formula steering wheel from my 1980 Trans Am that I'd be willing to sell if you need one of that color.
