Door hinge detent rollers?
« on: September 22, 2021, 07:33:24 AM »
I think there used to be a thread that described how to rebuild hinges for the 2nd gen. But finding replacement detent rollers are near impossible or very expensive. IIRC there was a substitute from another GM car that would work. But I don't remember what it was. Maybe someone remembers?

Years ago there was a magazine article where they used rollers from a 1st or 3rd Gen repair kit, modified to fit a 2nd gen. It was fairly involved and likely not worth the trouble. Perhaps new hinges weren't available at the time. I remember rebuilding a few sets of hinges with new pins and oversized bushes, one had a worn roller so just tossed it and rebuilt another.
