As the subject says, I'm looking for a good machine shop(s) in Phx. Here's my sad story:
Took my block in and had it cleaned, mag'd, align bored, decked, bored... It took a while to get it together, but shortly after, we noticed crud in the radiator & water in the oil. The car has never been on the road & is still on jack stands. 1st thought was head gasket... Did a leak down and also found that the valves were leaking despite a complete valve job. Hand lapped the valves & installed new Perma torque gaskets. Redid the leak down & still have a leak. Off come the heads again & was able to get my phone down into #7 (where I couldn't see) and I've got a cracked cylinder... Found another in #2. Lots of time & $$ waisted.
So, I need a trustworthy machine shop(s) to determine if the block is worth saving and can check the heads for leaks.
