Folks, I am looking for some suggestions for exhaust system kits on my 79 with a 403. I live in California, which means I have to smog the car every two years and therefore have to run the catalytic system. I can, of course, bypass the cat most of the time, but that rules out a dual exhaust setup.
Looking for feedback on OEM manifold replacements - I hear Thornton / Rare makes (or made) a replacement exhaust manifold that supports the driver to passenger side crossover that collects into one downpipe and then into the cat. Anybody using this?
Also, any suggestions for full cat back systems that I should be looking into? Or should I just be going to an exhaust shop and having them fab up the piping from the cat back?
