Longtime member passed away
« on: May 20, 2024, 09:32:56 PM »
For those of you from before the TAC crash, you may remember 1stsgtretired on here- George Berg.  He has battled cancer for a few years.  Today he passed away.  George was a great friend and a regular at the Nats with his cars.

Sorry to hear, I drove up to his place some years ago and hung out with him for a few hours. He'll be missed.

Sorry to hear. I use to speak with George on somewhat regular bases and I am glad he made the Nats one last time. He will be missed and I know he'll be driving his red, white and blue cars in heaven.

Regards, Jack

I was fortunate to meet George and talk to him over the years at the Nationals.
He certainly will be missed by the Trans Am community, and everyone that knew him.
Condolences to his family. Rest well, George.

George took my car to his house after the 2009 Nationals. Kept it all winter, working his magic on it. Mission creep kicked in. The motor, trans, starter all come out and were rebuilt while he had it. Got it back in the spring of 2010.
It took 2nd place in S/E 2 class in 2010. Too many other George and JP stories to list here but the man will surely be missed. He was a friend to anyone that met him.
