Nothing much to say.

Usual Xmas stuff here, and work on the Lemans is intermittent as my garage does not have heat and I am old.

I've been in and out several times each day.  No fun talking to myself though

It always slowed down after Christmas here; the difference is that when it slows down now, with only 6-8 steady posters instead of like years past with 90+ regular posters, it means no one is here.

I was thinking the same thing, I don’t say much but do check in everyday. Hope everyone had a great Christmas, mine was good with getting some Bronco parts and leather welding jacket.

Oh, a leather welding jacket. Now that is something I would like to get. I weld most days in my shop, that would he handy to keep the sunburn at bay. I do a decent amount of RIG welding so spatter is minimal, it's the weldburn that gets me.

Like others, I checked in and did not see anything new posted. I figured people were enjoying holidays! After the first of the year things will get back to normal.

Yes, holidays tend to slow things down a bit. Our Christmas was uneventful which is good. My daughter bought me a car model of the MonkeeMobile (Pontiac GTO) so she gets props. I never hinted or even asked for such a thing so it was a complete surprise. I thought it was a pretty cool gift. I went to hobby lobby to get some paint and glue, they had a 50% off of models so I bought a large scale 1979 trans am as well. Now I have 2 to fill in my boredom, IF I ever run out of things to do.

Not much going on with my TATA. I have been sanding some shutters in my shop for my day job, and there is a layer of green dust that coats everything. So I have the car wrapped up tight to keep the motor clean and dust out of the important parts. Hoped to get things hooked up over the long holiday but nothing yet. Was planning on getting something done this weekend.

I havent been on here too much lately because the forum doesnt work any longer on my browser (explorer I think it is). So I put in firefox, which it works on but it creates a few more steps as opposed to one click like before. Hopefully I will get used to it and start posting regular again.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All!!

In other new, Gil de Ferran has died.

We had a unique Christmas this year.  My wife and I went to visit my younger son and DIL in the UK.  It was a 2 week trip.  We left on Friday Dec 15th and came back to the US last Friday the 29th.  They planned a surprise side trip for us, which turned out to be 3 days in Rome.  Fantastic time.  We’ve never been abroad before. He’s stationed at Lakenheath AFB a couple of hours ride north of London.  They met us at Heathrow and we stayed in London for a couple of days before going to their place in Bury St Edmunds. We’re there for a few days and then went to Rome.  Back to BSE for Christmas. Relax for day or so, then traveled towards London with a side stop in Windsor to see Windsor Castle. One last day/overnight in London where we saw the longest running play (Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap).  It’s been playing the same theater for 27 years and we attended the 29,000th something show.  We saw some of the most amazing sites and it was great to be with the kids.

No tree or decorations at home for us as we weren’t going to be around.

The only mishap was my wife tripped/stepped funny on a curb in Rome mid-trip and managed to wrench both ankles. Walking was difficult for her for the remainder of the time.  We got her some ankle support wraps at a pharmacy but she was in pain.  We got her a wheel chair at the main attractions like the Vatican and Windsor Castle so it slowed us a bit but didn’t stop our trip.  We went to urgent care yesterday and X-rays showed hairline fractures in both feet/ankles.   .

I wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year.

Wow, that was quite a trip! I've never been outside the U.S.  I had a good friend who volunteered for a 6-year detail in Italy.  We talked about going, but it seemed he had his or his wife's family there every time he had time off.  Finally, at the last- he kept asking us to come before he had to return home.  But by then, he had been to all the tourist things so many times with others that we figured it would be a nuisance to him and his wife.  They took trains everywhere for travel from their home in Aviano- Rome, Switzerland, Germany, everywhere...  Trains were the form of transportation that everyone used.  I hope your wife heals up fast!

My sister married and Italian. They lived across the street or so from the coliseum. His father is a big time banker and they have quite a few houses in Italy. My sister and her family now live in the states and went back for Christmas with his family.  Someday we'll go with them as they know all the best places to go, not the typical tourist stuff. Kinda behind the scenes type stuff.

It really cool you guys got to go somewhere. I have never been abroad (other than Aruba once).

Wife and I enjoyed our trips to Europe quite a bit.  We will see how living there is now, bought a house south of Lisboa (Moita) and will move mid next Fall.

Subways, trains are nice to get around - roads are excellent but parking a royal pain.

Yes.  Residency visas, selling our house, etc.   Will take the Lemans - a bit of a challenge.

Scarebird:  Best if luck with the move overseas.  I’ll wager the LeMans will make quite the impression over there!

Rich:  Congratulations to you and the family on the engagement.  And now the planning begins!
