Power steering

My 1979 has had 403 replaced with 1977 400 and the pressure line leaks at gearbox
Online search is confusing because the couple that I think would fit seem long compared to original,
Anyone know what hose I should buy?

If now using PS and brackets to suit a 400 in a Firebird, then the parts should match, as if it was an original item.

A quick search says it should be possibly #7816969.
 
And 2 random links, does this look right? Also, there were 2 different length 403 PS lines, early and late. I think they both work but just a revised shape and position. Not sure, mine is custom.

Yes, mine is routed down from pump instead of up like the picture, so the length made me wonder
I think the steel part was mostly cut off when someone fixed leaking connections with fitting
My motor does have the 19 1/2 fan and shroud from olds motor so questioning which other parts that have been combined before a purchase
I knew when I looked this morning I would have a direction and an answer thanks!

Unless it's the Olds hose. You could try tightening and loosening several times then tighten a little more, see if it makes a better seal.

Make sure the flair on the hose fitting and on the gear box is clean.  Any dirt on those mating surfaces could prevent a good seal.

Someone put a ferrule fitting on pump end but it’s not tight on tube so the tube must have lost size due to rust - I don’t think it’s metric or hope not
I ordered a hose if it doesn’t work I’ll have one for sale (haha)

Replaced hoses and no leaks . The power side hose took a little moving around to get it into shape that works
Would’ve been easier before new radiator went in but I like swearing at myself
