Nice to see a clean original that hasn’t been modified. Base firebirds, Esprit’s and even Formula’s are getting to be rare these days. The radio delete wasn’t unusual because many would yank the factory radio in favor of a much better aftermarket. Why spend the money on something your going to throw away. I think the radio accommodation package was like $10.00, giving you the windshield antenna.

An enjoyable read, thanks for sharing.

I like how they tried to spell out the pronunciation of Esprit. Personally I think they are wrong but again I've always called it Esprit (the way its spelled).

I think it is easier to find one of the color bird versions of the Esprit: Skybird, Redbird, Yellowbird.

Personally I don't like yellowbird, and others but an Espirt with 400 4 speed would make a good sleeper.

Thanks for the link. I have always pronounced it Eh-Spree. I would like to have a 'Rockford" car to round out the stable. Maybe someday  When I was selling real estate there was a girl I worked with that went to school with my wife. She got a Skybird for her 16th birthday! No longer had it though. There was a guy down the street from me that had a redbird. I have seen one skybird at a show a few years back other than that I havent seen any. I think they are def. rare these days.

I would love to find out about the actual pronunciation of Esprit, I always assumed (maybe prefer ) to call it esprit (like the Spirit of America but add an e)

I believe it is of French origin (Im sounding like a spelling bee judge ) and should be 'spree' not 'sprit'.
Along the same lines as Grand Prix is 'pree' not 'pricks'.
A Concours de Elegance is 'concore' not 'concourse'.

Pretentiousness over, back to my former hillbilly self.
