power steering pump question
« on: February 05, 2022, 03:28:01 PM »
I have a rebuilt power steering pump for my 79 TransAm that I just installed. The front bracket uses 2 of the 4 threaded holes to mount to the pump body. I thought the other 2 holes were just for different configurations but the lowest hole started leaking and then the fluid came out like an oil pan drain!  Do these pumps have a drain plug hole or is something way wrong?

Yea, in your first pic it is the lower hole on the left side. I know they are supposed to be blind holes but that one is leaking like a drain. I am going to try a bolt with the flange type head and a washer like used on an oil pan bolt; this should seal it up, I hope.
