Headlight warning buzzer? Where is it located in a 76 firebird?
« on: October 29, 2021, 04:12:07 PM »
I read somewhere that a burnt/toasted headlight buzzer maybe be the cause of my dash lights continuing to quickly burn fuses.  I wanted to take a look at it if my car actually has one.  I just don't have any idea where it is located and what it looks like.  Any help would great.  Thanks!

Easy to locate, it clipped over the dash illumination fuse with a piggy back clip. More than likely your main cluster circuit board.

76 doesn't have one.  It has a key buzzer.  The key buzzer is the buzzer with 4 wires.  The seat belt buzzer only needs two wires.  So two buzzers under there.

In 1981, they came up with a little brain box that rolled a headlight buzzer into the key buzzer.  I don't really know where I got this idea, but on my website I had written that this was included in the lamp group.  It's made in such a way that it'll fit any year.

I think you have them flip-flopped. Key is 2 wire, seatbelt has 4.

You're right, sorry.  The seatbelt has a timer, so that would take 4 wires to do that old school, wouldn't it?  The key switch is double-switched, but I guess they did that with one switch on each wire.
