Custom Autosound Radio
« on: March 30, 2021, 08:10:30 AM »
I put in a new Custom Autosound radio in my 79 TA the other day, but the unit is smaller than the stock radio/8track and doesn't appear to accept the stock radio mount.  Has anybody installed one of these, and if so, how did you support it so all the pressure isn't on the dash radio cutout.  It came with a universal mounting bracket but I can't seem to find a good location to connect it to.

I used a Retro Sound radio for my 76 Firebird. I used the supplied bracket and made it go from the back of the radio down the the cross brace, metal, below the radio. It was the cheap slotted metal bent into an L shape and bolted to the dash.

Someone may have all the information you require. But they will probably save it for someone with manners instead.
