I was also thinking about you not wanting the car operable while you work on it. If you have an aftermarket intake you could look for a Holley or something for cheap to run temporarily. I had one laying around so I threw a rebuild kit in it and ran that for a few weeks or so till I was done with the quadrajet then I swapped them again. Just another option.

Also, the secondary lockout not disengaging will cause the secondaries not opening. That can only be solved by a properly adjusted choke.

Thank you. I rebuilt the gearbox already and then installed it. The large nut you refer to has been adjusted. It is the sector shaft, I am sure. Before it had too much play and now it is tight except turning right. I will play with the sector shaft adjusting nut and see if it will resolve.

Firebirdparts, that’s definitely a reasonably priced alternative to the Holley lamps.

As long as we are talking about options, here is a link to what I used for my high beams.
These are made by Phillips,  The cost about $13.00 per bulb.

Not really an alternative.  They will be better than what came with out cars but they won't be near as bright as an LED.

I appreciate the compliments! I'm usually thinking several steps ahead when I'm building cars, so I like to plan ahead for the projects I'm doing. I don't get that much garage time, so I like to maximize it when I'm out there. Nothing worse than when I'm right in the middle of the project and am forced to stop because I need a part.

I've done the same a few times and read the build from the beginning. It really has come a long way and I'm really proud of how it's turned out so far. Still a ways to go and it will likely always be evolving, but it will be nice to just cruise it for a while this summer. I need to cool it on buying new parts for a while. Although in reality once the rear is under the car and the new fuel pump/controller are installed I won't need that many more parts to add the turbo haha.
