Title: Minimum wiring needed to start engine
Post by: wheels78ta on November 23, 2024, 01:29:56 PM
I getting closer to starting the engine for it's break in period.

What is the minimal wiring needing to do this.  I don't need the lights or anything like that.  That's for later.

I will plug in the Fuel gauge, Volts gauge, Oil pressure gauge, Water Temp gauge and tach.

I have some wiring already hooked up but wanted to make sure I'm correct.

all you need is starter motor and ignition coil and engine ground
oil pressure and coolant temp would be advisable, which means cluster power and sensor wires

I'll double check everything and go from there.

Thank you.

I think I just had my battery hooked up and I bought a remote starter that alligator clips onto the starter as a minimum. I didnt run it for long, but wanted to make sure it would turn over.
