Does anyone here have Jack's contact info or heard from him lately? He used to be one of the regulars and I enjoyed hearing from him. Hasnt been on here in a long time. I know he was travelling a lot for work, but he would check in occassionally. I have a few guys personal info but not his.

Was online Yesterday, or Today in Yesterday land there. Often hangs out in Lobby.

Hi Kerry, thank you for asking, it's been a long time but Wallington is right I do check in from time to time but typically I'm on here for a quick minute. Had health issues that's not yet resolved but working 60+ hour weeks and traveling is not helping. The entire summer is over and I haven't done anything car related or fun including cooking out (and I've yet to use that fancy grill that I got the year before). Anyways I can go on but I guess that's life and the times we are living in...

Jack, wishing you all the best. Please make time for yourself!

At the end of their life, no one ever says “I wish I would have spent more time at work”
Make some time NOW for the people you care about and make time (as in plan it, schedule it) to do something you enjoy doing.

Bingo
Life is too short to not do the things you wanna do.

Jack- I really hope things calm down for you soon. BT,DT

Good to hear from you Jack, yes as noted above please take care of yourself.
-
Thank you all, I'm hopeful things will improve in a month or so. I am determined to at least move the birds before winter and I need to catch up here as well.

Just came home from another trip but managed to have fun this time. A coworker invited me to dinner and this was a very pleasant surprise.

Very nice! Which model Lambo is it?
-
06 Gallardo. It was a blast but not the same as driving an early 70s Firebird. I prefer my 71, when it ran/last drove it
-
2006 Gallardo. That's what this one is, that my buddy used to leave at my place. Fun cars!
-
Looks like you were having a hard time catching up to that f150! LOL
Thats one of those cars I would probably love if I ever drove one, but honestly have no desire for any kind of supercar. I felt the same way about vettes, to me they were ok, but again no real desire for them. Then a buddy of mine took me for a ride and let me drive his Z06 and I was hooked. I have been tempted lately to sell the birds and get a 2020 vette but then I slap myself back into reality.

Have some good news to share, I guess all of the hard work paid off as today I was promoted to VP of Engineering. I guess I was doing something right but now will have less time to myself.
-
Congratulations! Hope the pay reflects that too!
Save some money too!
-
Wow! Congratulations, Jack. Well done, and from all I've read from your travels- WELL DESERVED!!!
-
Thank you, can't complain about the pay and the workload is manageable. Also there should be less travel as the firm is trying to find ways to reduce expenses.

Great news Jack. Congratulations and well-deserved. I wish you all the best with the new position!
-
Congratulations on your promotion. I hope you get to spend some more time at home. When I was younger I thought how glamourous it was to be traveling all of the time for business. I had a friend that was on the road 5 days a week. On his vacation time and days off he stayed and did nothing. Was tired of going places. I realized then that it may not be what it seems like.
-
Congrats on your promotion my friend!

Congratulations Jack, that's great news! I hope this is a rewarding position for you and hopefully you can still find time to do what you love.

Just a quick update about me and what I've been doing the last few months or year now.
Health issues - major respiratory issues now resolved. But I've done carpal tunnel surgery (did the left hand a month ago and the right hand last week). But somehow I managed to tear my meniscus. The pain is unreal and now waiting for surgery. I have few other minor respiratory issues but I'm thankful to be healthy.
Work has been very demanding and I've come to realize that life is more important than promotions and money, I am trying to do something else but that is not easy.
Travel - still traveling a lot (just came back from London and Ireland) but at least I refused to travel to India. I believe my health issues started/due to traveling to India.
Cars - the 71 bird is under the knife and changing color to Lucy Blue. Body work is done and the car is in primer hopefully will be painted soon. I will post pics. The 72 (blue formula) I've yet to finish the interior but hopeful now I will. At least now that I'm able to use my hands. Also I got myself an ES350 and got my wife RX350, both few years old but sweet cars. I love the way they ride and kicking myself for not doing it sooner.
-
Wow, Jack, anything much going on in your life? I hope your meniscus deal gets resolved soon!

Good to hear from you Jack! I figured the job thing out a few years back. I make much less money than I did but I have a job that I absolutely love and the people are great and we have a ton of fun! The stress is zero and no one reports to me and it doesn't matter if I take a day off and I don't have to have a laptop chained to me on vacations. I'm definitely living my best life now. My advantage is that my wife makes good money so we are not dependent on my income. She also value family time so she is all for me being home more.
Can't wait to see you car pictures!

Thanks for the update Jack. Sorry to hear of your health issues. I too suffer from respiratory problems. I dont want to get political but I was fine until Feb of 2020. I got very sick, had a severe lung infection and pneumonia. I literally could not breath. I did get over that but my lungs have not been the same since. I was not diagnosed with the C word but hindsight being 20/20 I am sure that is what did it.

Hi all, I am back and now that Chrome is working I will be posting more I hope.
I am finally healthy but made the mistake of changing jobs. I had a very comfortable job with very good pay; but upper management changed and the firm made many changes that was making my life difficult. My previous supervisor reached out to me (who left the firm for the same reason) and offered me a job with slightly more pay. I took it as it's less stressful but I'll be working harder and traveling more. I figured I want to retire in 5 years and this will be my last move. The company is based in Ashburn VA which means my position is remote but I have to travel to VA often and I'm already scheduled to travel to Mexico, Germany and Japan. I have not been to Japan so I'm looking forwards to that. Anyways hopefully the travel will not be excessive.
As far as car news, my red 71 is still at paint shop jail, which is fine as I don't have a place to garage it during the very bad winter we are having here in the northeast. I will post pics as I did a complete color change.

Good to hear from you, Jack!
-
Best of luck with the new job, and can’t wait to see the pictures.
-
Good to hear from you Jack, glad you were able to make a positive career change. Hope the best for you. I have been in the same job for my entire career and always with family. I started in hs working for dad when he had a small contracting business. Then my older brothers took over and we became a fair sized company doing all commercial work. After 30 years or so due to unforeseen circumstances we closed up. Thats when I went on my own. That was a major change for me as all of the sudden I had no one to take care of me or fall back on. It was swim or die  So far things have worked out well for the past 10 years. After 20 years my wife was laid off this past summer as her employer retired. She was the office manager for a small law firm. She is just a bit shy of retirement years and had spent the last 6 months trying to find a job. It wasnt easy but she finally secured what I would call a great job. I wish she had started there 20 years ago.

Glad to hear from ya sir!!
Hopefully if and when you go to Japan, you'll have sight seeing time as it will be extraordinary!!
I have only been to Okinawa Japan, but I loved every second of being there!!
Cheers
